On September 12, 1973, Adriana de las Mercedes DOTE MENDEZ, 27 years old, a housewife, was killed by gunfire.

That day, at approximately 17:30 hours, she was washing clothes inside her home located in the Lo Sierra and Lo Espejo sector, accompanied by her two young children and two neighbors, when shots were fired from a helicopter flying at a low altitude, one of which struck the victim.

Although she was transported by Carabineros to the Hospital Barros Luco, she passed away before reaching the medical center.

The Commission formed the conviction that the death of Adriana Dote was a consequence of the political violence prevailing at the time, taking into account the immediate cause of her death, gunshot wounds, and the known circumstances under which she lost her life.
